Garden for a Modern Country Home & Racing Stable

Clients Amanda and Willie asked me to develop a landscape design that formalized the house entrance, and complimenting the adjacent stables. Past the stables they wanted a formal entrance to the house and  a comprehensive garden design that reflected the unique layout of their newly built modern home.

Creating formalized spaces with hedging, and a unique Narcissus Avenue

The avenue to the house is newly tree lined and underplanted with masses of unusual narcissus. The addition of geometrIcally shaped  planted beds, reflect the style of the house, adding scent and color while creating architectural interest. Throughout the property, a variety of hedging now delineates the home, the terrace and the stables, providing a more formalized visual structure to the to the grounds and gardens.

A  40 meter long herbaceous border frames the gorgeous sun trap of a terrace, where the homeowners can relax and enjoy the property from morning to evening. The terrace is dressed informally with large bespoke planters containing bundles of blooms and Agapanthus. A fig tree planted on the terrace and surrounded with lavender is a sumptuous focal point, happily soaking up the heat while creating shade.
