Space to shine.

This beautiful cottage garden is steeped in local history, with 2 cottages, and a mill house, this renovation was a joy. The garden had matured and required editing to allow the large specimens to have their space to shine. Vigorous perennials had taken over in places and needed to be controlled to regain structure in the design.

Working with Mother Nature to revive tired soil.

Soil conditions were challenging with poor drainage and tired soil in places. Not wanting to go against Mother Nature and create a maintenance nightmare, I worked to improve the conditions but also planted accordingly, knowing the lay of the land was not going to change. Recently we have reconfigured the entrance to the property for easier access to house, grounds and gardens, as well as a discreet parking area for visitors.

“Valerie continues to develop our mature gardens, making the process uncomplicated and enjoyable. She has introduced new planting schemes and beds, accommodated building work, and always helps with the aftercare. She is diligent at understanding how we would like our garden to look and selects plants and materials best suited to us and our location. We continue to enjoy working with Valerie, and of course, we enjoy the results every day.”
